There are two ways of uninstalling McAfee on your Mac. There may be a set of uninstall programs already installed. If not, one can download an uninstaller and run it.

- Enter './uninstallMSC'
- The uninstall script will ask you for an admin password; use the one from the login.
- Wait until you get an 'uninstalled Successfully' message on the terminal.
- In addition, the McAfee agent (cma) needs to be uninstalled. CD to the McAfee/cma Library directory ('cd /Library/McAfee/cma').
- Enter 'sudo ./uninstall.sh' and provide the admin password as before.
Otherwise, assuming you need to download an uninstall utility, do the following:

- Download the uninstall utility VirusScan Uninstall Command from '/its/services/software/howto/Mac/ftp/.'
- In Downloads, double-click on VirusScan Uninstall.command.
At the McAfee Software Removal screen: Click Next. Click Agree to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA). At the Security Validation screen: Type the characters exactly as shown on your screen. Validation is case-sensitive. This step prevents the accidental use of MCPR.

If you are going to uninstall / remove McAfee antivirus or any other McAfee Security products then you should use the official uninstaller tool provided by McAfee.
